    Launching, Manifesting and Storytelling

It was around this time in 2022 when I was standing outside Lekker Coffee in Denver, Colorado commiserating with my best friend Taylor about the state of my current program launch.

I was in the final few days of launching the “Personal Trainer Business Accelerator” with the goal of getting 10 signups for a total of $30,000.

I only had two sign ups.

    Cue total launch melt down.

Taylor stood outside with me for an hour in his Birkenstocks as the spring snow began to fall.

I don’t remember what was said, but with his support, I remember leaving feeling light.

It was like hearing that your mom got into a horrific car accident and is in the hospital and the whole way there you don’t know if she’s alive or in a comma. You think of every worst cases scenario as you spiral downward into despair. Then you get to the hospital and find her in her hospital bed smiling and slurping up some jell-o and your whole body relaxes and releases all that tension. You hug your mom and cry tears of joy. You feel like you have a new lease on life.

    That’s what this felt like.

Suddenly I felt light and full of love.

My remaining launch emails were already scheduled. I was prepared to promote it a few more times on my IG stories. Beyond that, I felt truly free to release the strangle hold I was putting on reaching my goal of 10 sign ups.

What do you know, in those final 5 days of my launch, I signed up 7 more people and finished the launch making $27,000. My best launch ever.

While it is true, most people always sign up for things on the final day, I also know in my bones it was more than that.

I know it because I see it time and time again. Every time I release the need to hit my goal, abundance seems to pour in.

It seems, my ability to let go and become love is directly correlated to my ability to receive.

On Tuesday I had Kailey Bruyere @manifestwithkailey on the StoryGrowth Podcast and she said something toward the end of the episode which broke me wide open.

We were chatting about her new product, The Best Day Ever Effect (which is on pre-sale now for only $37 until March 28th) and I was prompting her with some story ideas based on this launch.

The content ideas were that she can embody her expertise as a manifestation coach by sharing how she is manifesting the results of her launch, which prompted me to ask if she set a goal.

She said no, she doesn’t set a ‘number of sign-ups’ goal.

    I had to know why.

I have been so gung-ho on goal setting and knowing your numbers for YEARS.

I used to be an engineer. I love my spreadsheets.

I love knowing I have 40 hot leads and if my goal is 10 sign ups for my new product and my sales close rate is 50% then I can easily close 10 sales if I only get 20 of those hot leads on calls.

    Almost guaranteed launch success!!

However, Kaiely went on to explain there are two different types of manifestors: specific and non-specific manifestors.

Essentially, some people love setting a goal and some don’t.

Instantly I remembered that moment with Taylor outside of Lekker Coffee and when I released my goal, the sales started coming in.

Even better? Kailey and I were having this conversation literally 2 hours before Call #1 of the next cohort of the my course, StoryGrowth Framework (btw it’s not too late to join!). A week earlier I was once again feeling the weight of not reaching my goal but, as I tend to do, I got to a place where I just HAD to let go, relax and focus on exuding love. The moment I started doing that, I start waking up to new members in the program.

When Kailey spoke about non-specific manifestors it’s like one of those DUH moments.

But I was so attached to goal setting I coudn’t see it. Or rather, I couldn’t release this way of operating (even though it was never the thing that worked best).

Since my call with Kailey, even though the program already started this past Tuesday, 5 more people have signed up and I have surpassed the original goal I set.

    BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE!

The community chat is popping OFF like it never has before. The Growth Community is on fire!

Before I put a ribbon on this thing, go ahead a queue up this episode with Kailey. It’s my favorite one to date. We were just vibing so high and it was such a fun mix of manifesting AND storytelling.

Here is what Kailey did for me during that podcast and what you can do for your audience with your content.

You don’t always have to TEACH something.

One of my favorite lines by Alex Hormozi is, “Oftentimes we need to be reminded more than we need to be taught.”

Kailey didn’t TEACH me how to manifest.

She simply shared her manifestation process of her launch, explained that there are two types of manifestors and allowed ME to connect the dots of my own experiences and blow my fucking minddddd, change the way I operate to allow me to feel more joy and of course, manifest more abundant outcomes.

You guys already know that I know full well not force things. That it’s all about raising your vibration so that your goals come chasing you.

Even though I’ve written about this and teach this concept to my clients, I still had a blind spot.

I didn’t realize how much setting a goal was creating constricted energy.

I was so locked in to this way of launching.

Even as I write this, I can feel myself tightly gripping to the goal setting process. I’ve been doing it so long.

    I was an engineer.

    I am MAN!!!

All these identities want to cling to goal setting, and knowing your numbers and how importance that is.

But being a specific manifestor simply hasn’t worked.

Every single time I take the non-specific manifestor route as Kailey explains, I find success.

In one single moment, Kailey shifted my perspective shifted. I felt lighter.

All the time we think, “my audience already knows this, so I’m not going to share it.”

Imagine if Kailey told herself that and didn’t share this concept with me.

She would be depriving me of having this MIND BLOWN moment.

Just like Kaiely, you are already fully embodying the characteristics and habits you want your audience to embody. My ask of you is to slow down and notice them.

Something Kailey and I spoke about in this podcast is how your story doesn’t have to be some BIG momentous event.

This story I just shared about my experience with Kailey wasn’t externally magnificent.

It was just a simple podcast interview.

It’s not like I made a million dollars or won the Oregon Tennis Championship.

That’s not what a story is.

A story is an internal shift in a character, which is what I just had.

That’s what your audience connects to.

You have moments like these far more than you realize if you slow down and allow yourself to see them.

Have you had an internal shift lately?

    What happened?

    Share that.
